Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
Early childhood education (ECE) is widely recognized as the foundation for lifelong learning and development, significantly influencing cognitive, emotional, and social outcomes. In Bauchi South Local Government Area (LGA), Bauchi State, challenges such as limited parental awareness, inadequate facilities, and cultural barriers hinder the effective implementation of ECE programs. Public relations (PR) strategies can play a pivotal role in promoting ECE by raising awareness, fostering stakeholder engagement, and advocating for increased investment in early learning initiatives. According to Abubakar and Musa (2023), PR campaigns tailored to local contexts have proven effective in mobilizing communities to support educational reforms. This study examines the PR strategies used to promote ECE in Bauchi South LGA and evaluates their effectiveness.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the known benefits of ECE, many parents in Bauchi South LGA do not prioritize early learning due to limited awareness, economic constraints, and cultural perceptions.
